Analytics don’t ever really see the spotlight; they’re typically more behind-the-scenes, like a stage manager for a theatrical production. However, what most people don’t realize is that analytics are a huge part of why the results of marketing can be so positive – or, in this analogy, the reason the show goes on without a hitch.

We’ve previously discussed the importance of analytics, but they’re so beneficial that they’re worth talking about more. Here at Blackwood, we firmly believe in using your business’s marketing analytics to foster and maintain growth. But what do we even look at?

Website Analytics.

One of the biggest determining factors for marketing success in the digital age is website traffic. When you’ve put the money, time, and effort into creating a stunning website, you want people to actually look at it! With website analytics, we can determine where we should be advertising your business to bring more people to your site.

For example, we’re able to see where people are originally clicking your site link using UTM codes. Then we can see where we should and shouldn’t link to your website! We’re also able to see how much time people spend on your site, as well as what they’re doing while they’re there. That way, we can optimize the website to bring people where we want them to be. Pretty cool, right?

Social Media Analytics.

Social media is a humongous component to a modern-day marketing strategy. Thus, the data we can collect from social media platforms is highly influential in our marketing decisions moving forward. We’re able to learn about your audience’s demographics (ages, genders, locations, etc.) as well as the average amount of time they spend on social media on a given  day. This information is all kept private – nobody’s selling anyone’s information – but we are able to use this data to more accurately reach your target market.

Actual Sales.

While the previous data could be found online or on social media, we’re going to need a bit of help from you for this one. Tracking what does and doesn’t sell can influence the way we market your business in the future; additionally, we need to know how much money is coming in as it relates to how much you’re putting out. We want to make the best use of your budget – that’s what we’re here for, right?

Other Types of Data.

When we say we track everything at Blackwood, we really mean it. Analytics, believe it or not, include foot traffic, email open rates, digital ad impressions (how many people look at your ad), and so much more. Some of the things we’re able to track may not even cross your mind! However, when you’re running a business, every number matters. We want to make sure we’re taking everything into account to make your business grow and flourish long-term.

If you’re overwhelmed by this amount of information, don’t worry – we totally understand. That’s why our folks here at Blackwood Creative are here to help! We’ve come up with tried and true methods of using your business’s analytics to help you grow, and we’d love to start taking those steps with you. We’re in the business of building remarkable brands – is yours next?
